Mango Lassi

Sweet mango pulp blended with plain yogurt with a hint of cardamom makes a special sweet lassi that can be served as a dessert or a cooling drink. You can freeze the leftovers to make mango lassi popsicles for later.

Ingredients

  • 2 sweet mangoes OR
  • 1.5 cups mango pulp from a can
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 green cardamom, seeds only or 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  • Wash and squeeze the pulp from two fresh mangoes (Ataulfo or any sweet variety)

Add to a blender

  • Pulp from 2 fresh mangoes
    OR
    1.5 cups mango pulp from a can
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
    Seeds from one green cardamom pod (or 1/2 tsp cardamom powder)
    1 cup water
    2 tsp sugar (to taste)
  • Blend all till creamy.
    Add more water and sugar as needed.
    This lassi is thick and has the consistency of a smoothie.
  • Pour into 2 glasses and serve chilled or turn the lassi into mango lassi popsicles for a sweet frozen treat.
