Peanut Yogurt Dip

This is a simple dip that is served with sabudana vada, sabudana thalipeeth, or varai and sabudana dhirde. Basically, it is a dip that is made with roasted peanuts, plain yogurt, and a few spices. Made with ingredients permitted for fasting, this dip usually goes hand in hand with anything sabudana or pearl tapioca.

Aai quickly mixes this dip while simultaneously frying the vadas or mixing the dough for the thalipeeth.

Step by Step

  1. Take 1 cup roasted peanuts.
  2. Blend them to a coarse powder.
  3. Finely chop and add
    • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
    • 1 green chili (sub with 1 tsp red chili powder)
  4. Add
    • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp cumin powder
  5. Mix all the ingredients together
  6. Serve as a dip with dhirde or thalipeeth.

Ingredients
